This indulgent dessert known worldwide is a fudgy, dense chocolate dessert that can be enjoyed with ice cream or whipped cream. It can cureĀ  any chocolate craving and is even better as it is made with wheat flour and can be enjoyed guilt-free.

Ingredients

  1. Butter (melted) [10 tablespoons]
  2. Granulated white sugar [1 1/4 cups]
  3. Cocoa powder [1/2 cup]
  4. Eggs [2]
  5. Wheat flour [1/2 cup]
  6. Baking powder [1/4 tsp]
  7. Salt [1/4 tsp]
  8. Sour cream/Buttermilk [2 tablespoons]
  9. nuts (optional) [1/4 cup]

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 degree for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the brownie tin by buttering and lining with parchment sheet/dusting with flour.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl melt the butter either on stove top or microwave.
  4. Mix together granulated sugar and cocoa powder until well combined.
  5. Add the melted butter to this mixture and mix until all the sugar disappears.
  6. Add the eggs one at a time until the mixture becomes smooth and silky.
  7. Sift the wheat flour,salt and baking powder to this.
  8. Mix until combined and add the sour cream/buttermilk.
  9. Mix until the batter turns to a pourable consistency.
  10. Add the nuts and do not overmix. (optional)
  11. Pour into the greased pan and bake at 180 degree .
  12. Bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out with a bit of crumbs sticking on it.

Notes

  • Make sure to sift sugar and cocoa powder as it is easier to mix it with melted butter.
  • Do not worry if mixture clumps up after adding egg. Just mix thoroughly and it will become smooth and silky.
  • Do not add salt if you are using salted butter.
  • If the batter is too thick add a tablespoon of milk and mix.
