Chocolate chip cookies are an all time classic and a favorite snack among all.Known how to make in every household with special recipes passed down from generations to generations.But here’s a foolproof one with healthy substitutes that makes it even better.

Ingredients

  1. Granulated white sugar [1/2 cup]
  2. Jaggery (light brown sugar) [3/4 cup]
  3. Salt [1 tsp]
  4. Butter (melted) [1/2 cup]
  5. Egg (room temperature) [1 large]
  6. Vanilla essence [1 tsp]
  7. Wheat Flour [1 1/4 cup]
  8. Baking soda [1/2 tsp]
  9. Chocolate chips(substitute with milk chocolate chunks for gooier chocolate) [1/2 cup]

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degree for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix together the granulated white sugar,salt and light brown sugar (jaggery).
  3. Add the melted butter to this mixture.
  4. Mix till all the ingredients are combined
  5. Add the egg and the vanilla extract.
  6. Sieve the wheat flour and baking soda to the mixture.
  7. Don’t mix it completely and make sure some flour is left. [makes it easier to combine chocolate chips to the dough.]
  8. Add the chocolate chips and mix till the dough is formed and there is no flour left.
  9. Shape it into balls and place it on a tray lined with parchment sheet.
  10. Bake at 180 degree for 12-15 minutes.

Note

  • Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature.
  • Use an 1/4 cup ice cream scoop to ensure even cooking [optional]
